A practical guide to parking for Split Old Town, the ferry port, Bačvice, Marjan and the wider city, using current official tariffs.
Plan your arrival
Diocletian’s Palace and much of Split’s historic core are pedestrian. For Old Town, the Riva and ferry port, expect to park outside the centre and finish the journey on foot.
The most central barrier car parks can be expensive in summer: Riva and Stari plac currently start at €4 for the first hour and charge €5 for each following hour. Street zones and car parks farther from the centre can cost considerably less.
Get your bearings
The map gives a broad view from Stari plac and the Riva to Bačvice and lower-cost locations outside the immediate historic centre. Choose a marker for directions, then confirm the entrance and tariff signs on arrival.

This selection focuses on useful visitor choices published by the municipal operator. It is not a promise of live availability, and privately operated car parks may use different tariffs.
Obala Hrvatskog narodnog preporoda 2, beside the waterfront and historic centre
The premium central choice for the Riva and Palace. Open 24 hours, with a published 10-minute exit tolerance.

Zrinsko-Frankopanska, north-west of Diocletian’s Palace
A central 24-hour option with the same premium tariff as Riva since January 2026.

Three Zone I barrier-controlled car parks around central Split
Open 24 hours and much cheaper per hour than Riva or Stari plac. The best location depends on whether you are heading for Old Town, the port or Bačvice.

North-east of the historic centre
A 24-hour Zone II option for visitors willing to walk farther to the Palace and waterfront.

Includes Matejuška, Sveti Frane, Zagrebačka and streets around the centre
Charged Monday–Friday 06:30–21:30 and Saturday 07:00–14:00; the official schedule currently lists no Sunday charging. Always check the sign.

Includes upper Višeslavova, Sukoišan, Gundulićeva and other inner-city streets

Includes Bačvice, Sustipan, Zvončac, Križine and streets farther from the centre
Useful for beaches and neighbourhood destinations. Charged Monday–Friday 07:00–19:00 and Saturday 07:00–14:00 under the current schedule.

Includes Mala dvorana Gripe and several locations east of central Split
Open 24 hours. These lower-priced locations are farther from the historic centre, so check walking distance and the exact payment method first.
Pay: Split Parking app and payment card at most open-air locations; garage-type sites may not accept cards.
Short-stay parking at FINA
A 20-minute maximum-stay location, not a general visitor option for sightseeing or the ferry port.

Seasonal tariffs
Street parking has four zones and separate summer and winter rates. Barrier-controlled car parks use their own tariffs. The premium Riva and Stari plac sites are substantially dearer than ordinary Zone I parking.

Always check the sign: tariffs, operating dates and payment methods can change. Prices above are the published rates checked on 5 August 2026; the sign at the car park takes precedence.
Know the trade-off
Useful before you drive
Diocletian’s Palace and the Riva are pedestrian-focused. Set your navigation to a chosen car park rather than to an address inside the historic core.
At the current summer tariff, three hours at Riva or Stari plac costs €14. Nearby Zone I barrier parking is listed at €1.50 per hour.
For the ferry port and Bačvice, eastern approaches can be more practical. For Marjan, Matejuška or the west side, look west or north-west of the Palace.
A valid payment does not guarantee that a street bay will be free. During ferry changeovers and summer events, leave time for a second choice.
The SMS number changes by street zone. Confirm the zone on the sign before paying, particularly where neighbouring streets fall into different zones.
Split Parking lists public charging at Dobrilina, Lokve and Sukoišan. Its current tariff is €0.28/kWh; other garage chargers are restricted to subscribers.
GoParko can list suitable larger spaces for daytime parking, not overnight camping. Check height, length and local restrictions before entering a public facility.
Questions answered
The current summer rate at Riva and Stari plac is €4 for the first hour and €5 for each following hour. Other Zone I barrier car parks are listed at €1.50 per hour, while Zone I street parking is €1.20 per hour.
The current official street-zone schedules list no Sunday charging, but temporary restrictions and signage can change. The sign beside the bay always takes precedence.
Riva is central but expensive. Bijankinijeva and areas east of the Palace may be more practical depending on your ferry and luggage. Allow extra time because ferry traffic can be heavy.
The municipal information describes drive-up parking and does not guarantee a visitor bay. A GoParko private space can be reserved for a selected period when availability is shown.
